Firstly, we understand that inviting an unknown caregiver into your home can at times be unpleasant; however, at 24 Hour Caregivers, you can have a peace of mind that all of our new or existing caregivers and staff undergo a yearly background check. Secondly, we know that it isn't easy to adjust to the lifestyle of having a caregiver at your home, therefore, everyone of our caregivers undergo a personality check which allows us recommend the best possible match for our clients.

Our CEO actively devotes his daily time in the Human Resources department to make sure that all of the new and existing staff are well trained and prepared to serve our clients. 24 Hour Caregivers is company that is fully insured, bonded, and covered by workers compensation insurance.

CAREGIVER SCREENING

We understand the importance of having a trustworthy and reliable caregiver for your family. So, we have developed a comprehensive seventeen-step hiring process to ensure only the best caregivers join our team.

OUR 17-STEP VERIFICATION PROCESS:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a caregiver
  • Minimum of 2 professional references as a caregiver
  • In-person interview with a care manager
  • Comprehensive personality assessment
  • Pre-employment caregiver competency exam
  • National background check
  • Inspector General check for fraud and exclusion
  • DMV records check
  • Tuberculosis exam or chest X-Ray (renewed every 2 years)
  • Company orientation with HIPAA guidelines and procedures
  • Physical exam (renewed every year)
  • CPR certification
  • Auto insurance
  • Verification of a Physical & PPD exam within 6 months of the hire date
  • If positive PPD, then Chest X-Ray of lungs will be required
  • A valid CPR training card
  • At least one Professional Reference
  • Competency exams on emergency situations are given to all caregivers upon hire, and renewed during every annual evaluation. (at least an 80% passing rate is required)
  • Assessment of the personality & attitude in complex situations (upon hire and on annual basis)
  • Phone Screening by an HR representative
  • Criminal Background Check (upon hire and on annual basis)
  • DMV check (upon hire and on annual basis)
  • Orientation of caregiver to the agency
  • Alzheimer’s and Dementia Training Module (upon hire and on annual basis)
  • Hospice Training Module (upon hire and on annual basis)
