When you finally decide, or are thrust into the need for in-home caregiving for your parents, the task can seem quite overwhelming. In my case, it was caused by one person suffering from a medical event and having to go to the hospital for an extended period of time and the other one needing help with daily tasks. In retrospect, I should have had in-home care inserted into the care of my parents long before they reached out and asked for help with a ramp-up care as needed.
I contacted Allen (owner of the company) and told him of my family’s situation and need for additional help while I was making some important decisions / changes about where they would eventually be living. He was the first person I talked to who was confident that his team could help and ensured me that whatever we needed, he could deliver.
Knowing what dynamics the caregivers would be handling with someone fresh out of the hospital, I told Allen that I needed someone who was empathetic, yet a drill sergeant who wouldn’t take no for an answer. He said he had just the right team members, and he did. They were incredible, flexible and really listened to what my parents needed.
The real test came during the Eaton Canyon fires when we got the evacuation notice before daylight and the caregiver helped move two elderly parents into my truck while I packed up personal belongings. They were calm, focused and caring throughout the whole ordeal. I could not have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend this company!
